The resistances we hold, the stories still untold

Venues: National Library, Faculty of Philosophy, National Gallery of Kosovo and Faculty of Arts.

As one of the largest public spaces in Prishtina a place of gathering and resistance, the University Campus was established between 1969 and 1970 as part of the University of Prishtina. Grounds for education and empowerment, the campus plays a major role in the growth and sustainment of various communities in Kosovo. It is a place for political and intellectual discussions, for living and resting relaxing through its wide green spaces of in-between. This tour explores different forms of resistance within public space, bridging ideas around the commons with the political context of Kosovo.

The tour will go through two important venues of Manifesta 14, the iconic building of the National Library of Kosovo, built by Andrija Mutnjaković with a mind to mix the identity of the rural surroundings with modernity, and the National Gallery, the preeminent institution of visual culture and contemporary art in Kosovo. In this tour, we discover the Campus through the artistic interventions of Manifesta 14 related to non-institutional archives, diasporic communities and resistance movements taking place at the Faculty of Philosophy and the Arts.
