Reading Rehearsal: ON PRACTICES OF SELF-DETERMINATION

Join us on Sunday to see the local contributions that have taken place as part of the Amator Archives. The public programme reading rehearsal: On Practices of Self-Determination will take place at the Centre for Narrative Practice through sessions where the local contributors will share and contrast materials in the archive. A newly designed website will be launched which will serve to reflect on the processes that have been taking place during Manifesta 14 and imagine ways of projecting the archive into the future.

On Practices of Self-Determination is the subtitle of the Amator Archives iteration in Kosovo. The participant’s document is formed of individual and collective self-determination. A myriad of local practices that seek sufficiency and autonomy through self-organised forms of education, sustainable food production, access to housing or sharing alternative information through fanzines and non-institutional art venues. Individual freedom is also addressed in personal archives that document the self-determination of gender, sexuality, family models, subculture or personal beliefs. .
