Movement Workshop by Uresa Ahmeti/ In body there is power
Do you care about your community? Are you concerned about human rights violations and injustice happening around you? Do you feel eager to find creative ways to speak up and resist? This movement-based workshop will offer an opportunity to critically engage with social issues, openly discuss them and connect with peers in order to find power through our body and use movements intentionally to send positive messages.
This is not a typical dance. This is not about traditional form and aesthetics. This is a safe space to collectively reflect with and through our bodies. All bodies have power and all bodies are welcomed. There is one main question guiding this workshop: What is it that your body needs to say?
Uresa Ahmeti’s workshop will focus on demonstrating the importance of thinking in bodily terms, highlighting the potentiality the body holds to resist oppression and encouraging bodily movement freedom to activate self-agency and joy.
