2 Korriku Street
Positioned between a busy bar corridor and the central Mother Teresa Boulevard, 2 Korriku Street is an important social space in Prishtina. The street is locally known as ‘Kafet e Rakisë’, or Rakia’s cafés.
2 Korriku Street is the site of an intervention conceived by the architectural bureau CRA-Carlo Ratti Associati as part of Manifesta 14 Prishtina’s Urban Vision. Former parking spaces from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport were turned into a new public space, highlighted with yellow paint. The Municipality of Prishtina and the Ministry supported Manifesta 14 with this intervention, which tests a new methodology for participatory urbanism by producing temporary examples of regeneration in the centre of Kosovo’s capital city.
